About the event

St Bede's Kelly Yip performs a programme of Beethoven and Schumann for the next performance in our C. Bechstein Centre Recital Series.

Tickets for this recital are completely FREE and all guests will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly. Tickets are limited, so if you would like to attend please call us on 0161 527 7677 or email info@bechstein.co.uk to secure your seat.

Likewise, if you are unable to make the event after booking, please call or email to let us know so we can offer your seat to another guest. For those who cannot attend in person we will also live stream the event via our YouTube channel and Facebook page, a link will be provided nearer the time.

Kelly's programme includes:

Ludwig van Beethoven:

Sonata in F minor, Opus 2, No. 1

Sonata in D Minor, Opus 31,  No. 2 'Tempest'

Robert Schumann:

Papillons, Opus 2

About the pianist: 

Born in Hong Kong in 2006, 15 year old Kelly Yip is currently in Year 10 at St. Bede's College. She started her piano lessons at the age of four and attained the Licentiate diploma from the Trinity College London in 2020. She is the pianist of the School Choir.

Kelly has won in a number of international piano competitions, including Champion in the 24th St. Cecilia International Music Competition, Silver Award in the 2nd New Talent British International Youth Music Competition, Second Prize in the New York Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition and in the 5th European Elbe Valley International Music Competition, Third Place in the United States Open Music Competition held in Oakland, USA.

Kelly has also won various local competitions in her home country, coming first in the 67th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, 4th Parsons Music Festival and in the 9th Little Musical Philanthropists Competition.

Kelly gave her piano solo debut in August 2019, followed by a duet performance in September 2019. Later she studied at Chetham’s School of Music.
