About the event

For our final recital this year, we are excited to announce our Christmas special with Lucy Farrimond and Henry Cash in our C. Bechstein Centre Manchester recital series!

Tickets for this recital are completely FREE and all guests will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly/non-alcoholic alternative and a festive mince pie! Tickets are limited, so if you would like to attend please call us on 0161 527 7677 or email to secure your seat.

About the musicians

Lucy Farrimond

Lucy Farrimond is a young lyric soprano based in Greater Manchester, UK: currently studying for a master’s degree at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Jane Irwin. Lucy has performed at esteemed venues throughout the UK and abroad, including: The Royal Albert Hall, The Bridgewater Hall, Snape Maltings and The Embassy of the United Kingdom in Paris.

Recent competition success includes: winning the first prize of ‘The George Shirley Vocal Competition’ international category (2022) and winning first-prize in four categories at the ‘Chester Competitive Festival of Performing Arts’ (2022).

Lucy has been the Event Manager of the 'National Student Opera Society UK' since March 2020 and is passionate about sharing her love for opera with fellow young musicians globally. Since being appointed at the organisation, Lucy has hosted interviews and masterclasses alongside top industry professionals worldwide, with her work being nominated for a '360° Opera Award'.

Henry Cash

Henry Cash is 23 and from Huddersfield. He began his musical training at Chetham’s School of Music, age 13, before receiving a scholarship in 2017 to study with Rustem Hayroudinoff at the Royal Academy of Music. After graduating with a first class degree from the Royal Academy he received a scholarship to study with Colin Stone at the Royal Northern College of Music. 

Henry has given numerous concerts in the UK and abroad including solo recitals in venues such as the Bridgewater Hall, the Stoller Hall and St James’s Piccadilly. He performed Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No 1 in 2015 (age 16), accompanied by the Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra and again with the Bristol Classical Players in 2018.

Henry won second prize at the 2021 James Mottram International Piano Competition performing the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in November 2021.
